GUARANTEE:

**The puppy you received is a purebred Old English Mastiff and has the capability of being fully registered with the AKC (American Kennel Club) after the full asking price has been paid in full.  (Nonrefundable $200 Hold/Deposit + Remaining balance owed)**

**We guarantee the puppy that you received has a good temperament at the time of transfer and will continue to have this temperament as long as you continue proper socialization.**

**We guarantee that your puppy is in good general health upon delivery as evidenced by the health certificate issued by our vet prior to shipping (health certificates are not provided for puppies that are hand delivered or picked up.  This is a form used for the shipping/transport of dogs/puppies only.)  However, for those puppies that are picked up from our home or delivered to you by us will come with a copy of the receipt from our vet as proof vaccinations were given to it.**

**We guarantee against parvo and distemper for up to 72 hours from the time the puppy was delivered or picked up. This guarantee does not include any type of worms which are common in puppies or Coccidia.  Coccidia is a bacteria that can be brought on by stress or diet change. Worms recycle often and this is why it is important to follow up with your vet for continued treatment**

To guarantee the health of your puppy, the following must be adhered to:

1.) Your puppy must be kept current on all vaccinations, heartworm preventative, flea and tick treatment, and any other treatment deemed necessary by your vet.  You must also keep all vet records and provide them to us, should any problem arise with the puppy.  If you do not keep the puppy current on all the above listed treatments, you will not get a replacement puppy.

2.) You must have the puppy examined by a licensed veterinarian by age of 9 weeks or within five (5) business days from the date of transfer if puppy is older than 9 weeks. You are also required to get a copy of this visit mailed (scanned and e-mailed is ok also) to us in its original form (the way it was printed from Vet’s office).

The failure to do this will result in the cancellation of this health guarantee.

3a.) Your puppy is guaranteed until 12 months of age against fatal and life altering congenital and genetic diseases which adversely affect the health of the animal. If the dog should die within this 12 month time frame, you are required to have a necropsy to ascertain the reason for death.

3b.) Your puppy is guaranteed until 24 months of age against elbow or hip dysplacia.  If the puppy is thought to have a genetic defect, x-rays must be taken per OFA requirements and submitted to the OFA by your vet.  Copies of the OFA findings must be sent to us in their original printed format before the puppy reaches 24 months of age.  The guarantee does not cover degenerative joint disease, since it can be acquired.  Your vet must also prove that the dysplacia is of the heredity nature and not due to environmental factors or mishandling of the puppy by you or anyone/thing in contact with the puppy.

*We must be notified of any problem or death within two (2) business days by a licensed veterinarian. You must also provide us with the unhealthy puppy and proof of these findings, including: vet exam, x-rays, and any other tests performed so our vet can review the data.  All costs for shipping/delivering the unhealthy puppy back to us will be your responsibility.  The puppy's AKC papers will be signed back over to us. If both vets agree that the condition is indeed life altering from congenital or genetic diseases then we will provide a replacement puppy of the same value when one is available. We can not guarantee that it will be the same color.  If our vet does not agree with yours the puppy will be shipped/delivered back to you at your expense and the AKC papers signed back over to you.

ITEMS YOU WILL RECEIVE:

**AKC litter registered Old English Mastiff puppy

**Bill of Sale

**Copy of Proof of Shot record(s) with our vet information to be provided to your vet

Caring for your Puppy

*Your puppy was given its first/last shot on (date)______________ (Shot) ___________  (Last shot being if the puppy was not purchased until the puppy was over 9 weeks old and at least the puppy shots were in progress.)*

*Your puppy was given wormer at least 4 times.  We suggest that a fecal sample be allowed to be taken by your vet at the initial visit for further analysis for the reason stated in the last sentence under the Guarantee section.*

*Talk to your vet about proper diet for your puppy; however, we recommend Purina Puppy Chow for large breeds.

*Provide your puppy with safe play/chew toys, exercise and lots of love.  We strongly discourage “Rawhide” as a chew toy for the puppy throughout its life.  The rawhide can become small enough to fit entirely in the mouth and can be swallowed whole and become a choke hazard or obstruction in the gastrointestinal tract.  The only bone we recommend is a “Large Mammoth bone” for the purpose of chewing/treat.*

NUTRITION:

Feed your puppy a high quality dog food and always have plenty of fresh water available.  You will need to decide whether to use a “scheduled” or “open” feeding regime.  “Scheduled” feeding routines wherein the puppy/dog is fed at certain times of the day.  “Open” feedings is having the food continuously available in some type of feeder.  We start all of our puppies with OPEN feedings.

Puppies that are started with OPEN feedings will only eat when they are actually hungry and seldom overeat.  They learn that the food will always be there.  They also do not have to wonder where or when the next meal will come.  They will also be less likely to develop a habit of “hiding” food through out your house.

TRAINING:

Training Classes are always a good idea for any large/giant breed dog.

Establish a good rapport immediately with your puppy by frequent short play sessions. Your puppy desires to be near you.  Try to “catch your puppy doing something right” and reward with praise/treat.  Mastiffs are eager to please their masters.  Keep in mind that what you let it “get away with” as a puppy, it will remember as an adult.  If you choose to have your mastiff as an inside dog remember that after it wakes up and also before/after it eats, it will usually go poo/pee.  Get in a routine of taking it out at least every 2 hours until it is able to notify you that it needs to go “potty”. If you take the puppy to the place where you want it to go every time, it will eventually go there on its own.  Dogs are creatures of habit.  Be consistent and it will develop the habits you desire.  If you choose to have this puppy as a primary outside dog, you must provide a fenced in yard.  You must provide your puppy with a place to cool off (ie: AC or pool) since they are prone to get hot.  You must also provide proper shelter/housing for outside dogs. Our mastiffs are never to be chained or tied up in any way, you will ruin their temperament.

We start paper training each litter as soon as they become mobile young puppies.  We use the command, “Go Potty” in a soft but firm voice to help teach them that is what we want from them at that location.  They are still learning so they may still have accidents.

We allow our puppies and adults to come and go inside and outside as they please.  We do not confine them into crates while they are inside.  Our home is their home as well and they have free run in it.

Deposits are nonrefundable, but are transferable to another litter if one is available.  Payments are nonrefundable and nontransferable after the puppy reaches 6 weeks of age.

If for any reason in the Mastiff’s life, you decide you can no longer keep him/her, we will gladly take the Mastiff back.  If this puppy was shipped to you; You are responsible for paying for shipping him/her back to us via the same mode of transportation. This Mastiff is never to be sold or given to a research facility, dog pound, animal shelter, animal rescue, etc.  Call/contact us as WE will find the Mastiff a new home. We will respond to you via e-mail and maintain a paper trail, should you change your mind after the initial contact is made.

Please keep in touch with us to let us know how you and your puppy are doing.  We would like to receive photographs of your puppy as he/she grows with your family via e-mail.  Please feel free to call us with any questions or concerns.
