Dear Sasha Oh, we miss you so!
Dear Sasha, Oh, we miss you so,
You were so young to have had to go.
Rainbow Bridge is now where you are my Dear
Where all our animals go and wait without fear.
“Grandeur and Good Nature” the motto of your breed
A Mastiff is to a dog what a tree is to a seed.
More Gentle Giants the world may never know…
Though, Oh Sasha! Why did we not know?
Your puppies will continue to make a fuss,
And Sasha you leave your sister with us.
You both came to us as we could not decide,
Which one of you to take for our long truck ride.
Filling our hearts and our laps with drool,
Thought we had a long time ahead…We felt like such a fool.
Darling Sasha you were not an aged dog, you were only two,
Our time together was too short; you have touched us true.
Your love and bravery were sometimes hard to confine,
As that happened to your body you did not whine.
It was not a common infection that threatened your ease
It was some unknown, Non-genetic, Neuro-muscular disease.
We do not understand why we could not make it go away;
Thought we would happily play and smile again someday.
Though we are grateful for the time that we had Sasha Dear;
We cannot help feeling and wishing that you were still here.
We all loved you Sasha you were a very special girl.
You are in Rainbow’s meadow full of flowers that whirl.
Warmed by sunshine once again as you've lived you life…
You were one of our joys; now no more pain or strife.
No one has talked to us, as you did, in the last few days,
Nor have they demanded extra food, in your sweet ways.
The food bowl’s not empty and the couch is not as full,
We will always cherish your memory and miss your drool.
So, Sasha, wait with Brownie-1 for me
For, someday it will come to be.
And when you both see me you’ll both run
And together we will all share fun in the sun.
